Polar/Parametric Graphing
Monday, September 28, 2009 at 01:41AM | Recently, quite a few people e-mailed me about the status of the polar/parametric graphing feature, so I decided to post a status update on here. I worked on it quite a bit this weekend, and it's very close to being ready. I plan to submit version 1.1.5 of the calculator to Apple within a week. I hear that Apple takes around two weeks to approve updates lately, so my current estimate is that you'll be able to download it within three weeks.
I also spent some time changing the look and feel of this website. The header image actually has two screen shots showing off the polar and parametric graphing support. The smiley face was created using 4 parametric equations, and the polar graph is showing the graph for:
r(θ) = sin(10 * θ / 7)
In addition to adding polar/parametric graphing support, I fixed a few minor problems and improved the graphing speed. I have some really good ideas on how to improve the usability of the calculator screen. Many of you sent me great suggestions, and I would like to thank all of you. Version 1.1.6, which I'm going start working on shortly, will have a completely redesigned calculator screen with a large number of new features. I'll post more details once I get closer to releasing it.
